May 5th; Hershey's Track and Field Day

• The Needs
• Desserts; cookies, cupcakes, bars, etc.  Sign up here
• Food Servers; 2:00-6:00
• Set Up and Clean Up Help 1:00 to 2:00 or after 6:00

May 10th; Watered Gardens Breaking Ground!

• Meeting at 5:00 at our house, 907 F. Ave.
• Watered Gardens is a new project for us.  We will be doing some gardening!
• On May 10th we will be turning over and raking out some land, laying some black paper, and putting together some garden boxes
• After the work, we are going to grill out!!

May 11th; Community Night of Prayer ***(CHANGE IN DATE)***

• We usually meet the first Saturday, but made a small change this month
• Bring the family dinner at 6:00; music and prayer time to follow
• First timers always welcomed

May 11th; 10:5 Movement Spring Cleaning and May Baskets

• Meeting at 10:30 at our house, 907 F. Ave.
• Spring cleaning, washing windows, raking gardens, and other needed tasks for our friends here in town.  
• Come meet some new people and serve the community.

May 23rd; Watered Gardens Grill Out

• Meeting at 5:00 at our house, 907 F. Ave.
• On May 23rd we will be doing some weeding and a little more planting of seeds
• After the work, we are going to grill out!!

May 25th; Mobile Food Pantry

• Meeting at the house at 7AM
• Come serve coffee, juice, and doughnuts to some friends, several volunteers needed.
• Make some baked goods from banana bread to breakfast casserole

June 1st; Community Night of Prayer

• Get the date on your calendar early!
• Bring the family dinner at 6:00; music and prayer time to follow
• First timers always welcomed

June 7th; 10:5 Movement Summer BBQ/Grill Out

Winter Weather; Spring Cleaning

April marks the beginning of spring, and for 2Coats, the third year in a row that we have participated in a Spring Cleaning Event at the SUnrise Apartments, here in Grundy Center.  Several volunteers and 2Coats friends came out this past Saturday to do some spring cleaning at the sunrise apartments here in Grundy Center, Iowa.  This is the third year we have done spring cleaning at the apartments   Cleaning activities have included window washing, floor dusting, garden raking, and we have even cleaned out an oven or too!  Many of our friends like to have their windows washed, but the weather just seemed too cold this past Saturday (and windy) to open up the windows on this day.  We did have several requests from individuals to clean out gardens.  These tasks included raking of old leaves and cleaning out of gradens in preparation for spring planting.  

We met as planned at 10:30 and headed over as a team.  Rakes and bags for leaves and shovels and brooms and plenty of winter hats helped us to complete our jobs on the day.  It was nice to see all of the old leaves from fall and winter getting raked up and pulled off and away from the gardens.  When removed the thick, black, Iowa soil stood out so well.  Ready to nurture new life and another spring and summer season of growth.  I am excited to see what comes of their gardens this year!  We did not get a chance, due to the weather, to clean the wondeos of several friends who had asked.  April always seems to be hit or miss when it comes to the weather, so we are planning to finish up the job on May 11th.  We hope to catch a nice, warm, spring day, which would be ideal for Spring Cleaning as the wind and cold seemed to be to much to take out the windows and do a thorough job cleaning.  Nevertheless, we will again be joining together to do a part two of this year's spring cleaning on May 11th and we will again meet at 10:30.  For more information please visit the 2Coats website at www.2CoatsInc.org or give Steve H. a call at 319-215-8628.  Hope to see you soon!

Spring cleaning was April's 10:5 Movement outreach as planned by members of 2Coats, Inc.  There are monthly outreach opportunities that all are welcomed to join and help with The 10:5 Movement began one of 2Coats' initiatives to serve the local community, specifically the "Sunrise Apartments" here in Grundy Center.  The plan of service will include monthly outreaches, making personal human to human connections and community building amongst the Sunrise Apartment community.  We hope to connect our team members with anyone who needs a little extra help in or around their apartment, those who may need something from the store, or anyone looking for some human contact and friendly relationship.

Good day all, I hope this finds you well.  There is much to take part in, hope to see you soon!

in SIX days, April 6th, Community Night of Prayer.  Do you serve, volunteer, parent, hang out with other human beings, etc.?  Come get filled up so that you can pour out in abundance.  Dinner gathering at 6, worship at 6:30, prayer time to follow.  Bring a friend or bring the family, kids are welcome, we have a "KidZone"!
