What is a Board of Directors?

• formal/informal; non-profit may be different
• determine mission and purpose
• select executive and support them
• ensure effective organization
• ensure adequate resources
• determine and monitor organizations programs and services
• enhance the public image about the organization
• the board of directors is the rudder, the executive committee decides how we get to that point...
• Mission Statement: (possible) bridging the gap between those who have and those who need.
  
• Vision Statement: (possible) to create a community where individuals live in a wonderful harmony.
• Value Statement: TBA
• Thoughtful and intentional and still be open...
• will spend some time in deeper thought, bring this back up in the future (will need to be solid before not-for-profit status
  

Where have we been? Where are we?

• review in the beginning of the meeting of where we have been...
• review of events, what is the vision of 2Coats. What has the Spirit laid upon Mary and Steve's heart.
  

Where is 2Coats going in 2011 and beyond?

• working cooperatively with the ministerial association (what do you do? outreaches? what can we do?)

January 18th Fundraiser

• 5:00 start, 7:00? finish
• announcements at 5:15, 5:45, 6:05, 6:25

• we will be serving...chili, soups, bread sticks (Olive Garden), bars, lemonade, water, coffee

Caroling and Cookies is a Success!!

I had never been caroling. I had always wanted to but never did. This first opportunity makes me want to carol more and more in the future!!

On December 20, 2010, friends of 2Coats traveled to the Senior Housing development on the east side of town. With many donated cookies in hand, as well as many loaves of banana bread, we went from apartment building to apartment building caroling to all who would listen. There were many who respond to our offer to sing with much thanks and praise. As we walked from place to place, there was much joy in the air. Handing out some cookies and singing a few songs to each apartment, we moved forward with out journey. There were many smiles and warm shakes of the hand. The Spirit fell upon us that night as we sang, as we gave away the gifts that we brought.

A special thanks to all of the young people who were able to attend and make the night extra special for the folks living out at the brown apartments on the east side of town! Brooke, Madison, Sydney, Reegan, Kylie, and Hailey, Bryce Flater, Trevor, and Chase.
